The user places the camera lens on the tip of the pinky finger and the light from the camera flash radiates through the fingertip.

Using state-of-the-art signal analysis methods, the pulse curve is determined from the video signal on the smartphone camera. Based on this pulse curve, highly accurate and patented algorithms determine your heart rhythm.

The app detects cardiac arrhythmias with an ECG-comparable accuracy of approx. 96%.

With the free version, you can take a one-minute pre-test and get an initial evaluation of your pre-test results.

Furthermore, you can use the free version to try out the features of the full version once for 30 minutes.

A precise measurement for 1 minute or 5 minutes is available with the purchased full version. The full version generates an ECG-comparable PDF report of your measurement. This report includes the 5-minute recording of the original pulse curves and a symbolic display of the R-waves in each cardiac cycle.

You can also opt to use the Telecare Service, which supports you and your physician by providing medical-technical evaluations of your heartbeat recordings.

The app needs access to the smartphone’s camera and memory, which also contains your photos. The app requires memory access to store its text and image content as well as to update the data as necessary. The app never accesses your photos during this process. Camera access is required for the measurements to be taken with the camera and flash.

Unfortunately, iPads and other tablet devices are not equipped with a camera flash.

Since the camera flash on the device is required to take the measurement, Preventicus Heartbeats only works on smartphones.

If your tablet has a camera flash, please use the free version or the free 30-minute trial offer to check if Preventicus Heartbeats works on your device.

An isolated red result can be caused by a measurement error. Please be sure to strictly follow the instructions on how to take the measurement. If a red result occurs repeatedly, we advise consulting your physician.

Frequently, cold fingers can affect the measurement quality. Often, briefly massaging your fingertip to improve blood circulation can help prevent this.

Use your pinky finger for the measurement.

Please never place the camera flash on the tip of your pinky finger, only the camera lens should touch the finger.

With a few smartphone models, the camera flash can get uncomfortably hot and feel hot if the device is used incorrectly (camera flash placed on the skin).

If it is still too hot despite proper use (i.e. only the camera lens is placed on the pinky finger, not the flash), please e-mail us at support@preventicus.com, and be sure to specify your device type.

If you register as a user in the Preventicus Heartbeats App, your user data will be linked to your account.

If you switch your smartphone device, you will only have to log into the Preventicus Heartbeats App and your license and data will be restored automatically – even if the operating system is changed.

The login function in the Preventicus Heartbeats App has only been available since it was updated in June 2019. If your password cannot be reset, it is very likely that you are not registered as a user yet. Simply create a new login in the app.
